A-Level Results 2023

Congratulations to our Class of 2023, and all of our staff across the Harris Federation who have supported them on their A-Level successes. 

There were concerns across the country about this year's results returning to pre-pandemic grading but despite this, our students have performed excellently, and are planning exciting next steps into higher education and careers. 

Due to the temporary changes to grading made during Covid, these were the first external exams that this cohort had taken, and we're proud that our students lived up to their potential.

Harris Federation successes

Oxford and Cambridge acceptances

53 students across our academies will be taking up places at Oxford and Cambridge this year. Not only have we exceeded the number of places achieved last year but most are for courses recognised as being some of the harded to be accepted including Law, Engineering, and Veterinary Science. 

Top grade achievements

Nationally, there were 67,000 fewer A* and A grades awarded this year, but despite this, 179 of our students across all our Sixth Forms achieved at least three As. 

Vocational qualifications

Students are celebrating over 800 Distinction/Distinction* grades in Advanced Vocational courses across the cohort. 

Apprenticeships

Since the introduction of the Gatsby guidelines for careers, our academies have been keen to support students to gain apprenticeship opportunities. We have 40 confirmed apprenticeships with many more in the pipeline. 

Our Class of 2023 were in Year 10 were the pandemic hit, and throughout the last few years, they have proven themselves to be resilient, hard-working, and determined individuals. Every single one of them deserves the successes they have achieved and we know they will continue to demonstrate their value and abilities in their next steps.
