The Harris Federation Professional Development Network launched in September 2024, featuring representatives from each of our academies who come together to collaborate on designing a Federation-wide professional development offer for the upcoming academic year.
This platform provides an opportunity for forward-thinking staff to share examples of outstanding professional development practice across our academies and nurture the relationship between the National Institute of Teaching and Harris.
Through Harris Institute, we offer the whole golden thread of CPD, including a full suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs).
Our delivery model is grounded in tried-and-tested evidence of effective school improvement. These programmes build on what we know from practice works; enabling leaders to enhance their leadership and develop others. We’re committed to sharing learning and building capability with other schools to enable these programmes to achieve maximum impact by raising the bar to improve outcomes for young people.

Since 2019, Harris Federation has been an employer provider of apprenticeships, and more recently Harris Institute has attained Main Provider Status. This enables us to deliver our education-based programmes to apprentices and employers across the country.
In January 2024, our apprenticeship provision was rated 'Good' by Ofsted, recognising the high-quality training, expert delivery and real-world impact of our programmes.
