How do you feel your ECT experience has been so far?

It has been wonderful. I started my ECT journey in January, so I feel like I have been really accommodated for. They have been helpful in filling the gaps and supported me where I have needed it the most.

What has been a highlight of your ECT journey?

Honestly most of it has been a highlight. It has been wonderful to be able to continue to learn a lot about myself and how I have been changing as a person and as a teacher throughout the last year and a half. It has been so great to be able to work with my kids and see them develop and grow and see the positive effects that I have had on their learning every day.

What would you say to someone considering an ECT role at the Harris Federation?

I would say absolutely go for it. There is so much support in place. There are some great opportunities to meet other teachers from other schools. The Harris Federation in general is well resourced. It is a really great opportunity to be able to do what you want and put that into practice.

What is your favourite thing about working at Harris Primary Academy Philip Lane?

I think my favourite thing is the trips. Every term, every half term we go on a school trip whether that is to a museum, or to watch an orchestra or to the seaside or on a residential. There are so many opportunities, and it is so often that we get to go on these trips and take the kids out and about.

What would you say to someone considering a role at Harris Primary Academy Philip Lane?

The staff are amazing; they are so supportive, and the kids are incredible. They really put their all into every single day and there are so many opportunities to learn to become the teacher that you want to be and there are so many opportunities for the kids to grow beyond the classroom. There are so many great trips we go on and activities that they get to do.
