About Harris Primary Academy Peckham Park

Our vision is to provide an outstanding provision for the local community, regardless of their starting points and backgrounds. Our values are respect, responsibility, and resilience.

Every member of the Peckham Park Team is committed to our vision and values. We go above and beyond to ensure that our children are able to reach their potential. As a team, we are a mix of staff who have been here for many years and some relatively new staff too; we care about each member of the team and are very supportive of each other.

Our location

We are based in the London Borough of Southwark, and walking distance from Peckham train station which has links to the city and many bus routes across London. There is also plenty of free street parking outside the academy and on nearby roads.

Our academy is made up of three buildings; the main building is a beautiful and very large Victorian style building with plenty of classroom and breakout space. We also enjoy spacious outdoor play facilities including two large playgrounds and a football pitch area.

Although the academy is tucked away in a quiet, residential road, we are only a few munutes away from the vibrant and multi-cultural buzz of Rye Lane, Peckham. Peckham High Street offers many popular restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Why work for us?

Professional development

As well as the professional development opportunities that come from being part of the Harris Federation, we also have short, weekly CPD sessions and more comprehensive training for all staff on INSET days.

We also offer NPQ courses, diverse leadership training, and other training opportunities. We consider all CPD for staff on an individual basis and development is tailored for individual needs.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our staff is one of our key priorities and by joining us, you will benefit from weekly wellbeing activities; free wellbeing lunch and breakfast.

Our successes

We have been on an upward trajectory for several years for end of year outcomes.

  • Last year, 97% of our Year 1 pupils passed their phonics test.
  • 80% of our Year 6 pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing, and Maths.
  • Both results are considerably above the national average. Our last Ofsted judgement was Good in all areas and Outstanding for our Early Years.
