Simon

Health and Safety Manager

Simon

The longer I’ve been here, the more I’ve appreciated that what we do makes a difference. It is that we don’t aim to make money, we make a difference. Going to the staff conference, you really see the impact of what we do and what each of the schools is doing, and I appreciate that collectively, our achievements are making sure that the quality of education is incredibly high for disadvantaged children across London and Essex.

Simon is our Health and Safety Manager, and has worked here since 2020 to ensure safety in our schools. He prioritises three core areas: people's safety, secure premises, and enabling activities with minimal risk. The moral duty to protect people surpasses any legal and financial considerations.

His favorite part of the role is having hands-on involvement, relationship-building across the Federation, and providing assistance. He values the training opportunities he has been given and his strong working relationship with his manager.

The impact of Covid highlighted the significance of health and safety, and the work that Simon's team do, and he's proud that his team are known for their expertise, integrity, and approachability.
