If you are a school leaver who would like to join the Harris Federation, we have apprenticeship opportunities across our schools and within our central team.

You can apply to do an apprenticeship at any point in the year, with salary and entry requirements depending on the specific apprenticeship standard.

What is an Apprenticeship?

Harris apprenticeships offer school based training and development to help you gain technical and functional knowledge, whilst acquiring on the job practical experience. As an apprentice you will earn a salary as part of your professional training, which once completed, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification.

As an apprentice, you will work onsite at one of our Good or Outstanding academies as a full-time employee receiving fully funded apprenticeship training and the support of a dedicated mentor. You will have the opportunity to train in a school setting and work as part of one of our highly successful and talented academy teams.

If you are aged 16 or over and are not in full-time education, you can start an apprenticeship. Qualifications range between 1-5 years to complete depending on the level: Intermediate, Advanced, Higher or Degree.

Are you eligible?

To get on an apprenticeship programme, you must:

  • be aged over 16 at the start of the programme;
  • have been living in the UK/EU for three years before starting your apprenticeship;
  • not currently be in education;
  • be able to complete minimum or 30 hours of work each week.

All applicants will need to attend a pre-interview assessment centre prior to being considered for an apprenticeship. The Harris Federation partners with selected training providers who delivery our apprenticeship programmes.
